Why I think the twins are not dead
So first off, we see the twins in the dotm trailer, they were seen at the back of the autobot line during the trailer and in the final cut of dotm we see them in a different colour scheme (black with green and orange stripes) so I believe they were indeed evacuated and the reason why we did not see them with bumblebee, ironhide and etc is because they arrived sooner then the others, and yes I am aware that they died in the comics but since they didn’t die in the movie adaptation then I assume they are still alive and were in another part of chicago in dotm

The directors confirmed it, Transformers Rise of the Beasts and Bumblebee is no longer a follow up to the Michael Bay Movie series. It's a new continuity.
