Trapped in the facility housing the Ice Man, Fontaine and a skeleton crew of Sector Seven agents needed to figure out who sabotaged the building's furnace in order to escape certain death, either via the alien behemoth's hand, or Sector Seven's contingency plan to freeze the whole area over. He helped Bill Simmons subdue Philip Nolan, who was acting erratically in light of the situation. The group then made their way to the chamber housing the Ice Man, and together they brainstormed solutions to halting the rapidly thawing robot. They settled on a plan hinging on Fontaine linking a duct to bring in cold air from outside. Before the plan could fully be put into action, Fontaine was murdered by Joe Danco.
