Hardcore Eddie is one of Epps's former NEST teammates. Despite having previously been a member of NEST, he feels he didn't sign up to be shot at by aliens.

On their way to Chicago, Epps and Sam Witwicky stopped by Eddie's house to pick him up. When they arrived on the streets of Chicago and witnessed the devastation caused by the Decepticons, Eddie declared that he stay away from that area. Moments later the trio were attacked by a Decepticon fighter, but the newly-arrived Autobots shot it down. While Sam and Bumblebee took the fighter, Epps's team headed into the city with the Autobots. They encountered Sam and Bumblebee again after the pair rescued Sam's girlfriend Carly, and the team covered Epps and the two civilians as they communicated over a downed military drone.
Because of the Decepticon fighters shooting at the building, they then had to jump out of the window and he makes it. When Sam and Carly run away from the group, Epps gets frustrated at Hardcore Eddie for not paying attention to them. When it all ends, Epps and Hardcore Eddie still give each other a fist bump after Optimus gave a speech.
