Decepticon Lockdown
Lockdown's ship

Lockdown was a Decepticon who was an old rival of Ratchet, who featured in Transformers: Cyber Missions, made a cameo in IDW's Nefarious comics, and in Transformers: Dark of the Moon: Autobots/Decepticons.

In some media, he is depicted as the same character as the unaffiliated bounty hunter Lockdown.

History[]

IDW Comics[]

Lockdown was seen in Nefarious to be among the Transformers captured and brainwashed by the Initiative. When Optimus Prime and the Autobots assaulted the Initiative's mobile headquarters, Lockdown was released and knocked out Bumblebee

Lockdown battled JoltDune Runner, and Knock Out until he was eventually subdued by SideswipeSkids, and Mudflap, the former of which slashed him in the back.

Cyber Missions[]

Titan Comics[]

The Lockdown in these comics is eventually depicted as the same Lockdown from Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Alternate Timeline Fates[]

Toy bios[]

One of Lockdown's latest targets was Ratchet, whose destruction he will be paid handsomely for. Once he has accepted a contract, nothing short of total deactivation can stop him. While his services have never come cheap, he considers himself to be the best there is at what he does. Having never lost a target, Lockdown had no intentions for the hunt for Ratchet to be the first time.

Another Autobot target Lockdown has run afoul of was Arcee.

A long time ago, Lockdown trained Axor in the arts of bounty-hunting. Though this motivated the younger hunter to rebuilt himself to better resemble his teacher, Lockdown would deny it if you ask. Axor views his mentor as his closest comrade, which Lockdown has been willing to let him believe.

Lockdown does not necessarily about the Decepticon cause in the slightest. He only bears the Decepticon insignia because his closest comrade Megatron is the one paying him for capturing the targets he hunts in energon chips. Though Lockdown has worked alone in the past, he never failed to bring in an Autobot he was assigned to capture.

Dark of the Moon - Autobots/Decepticons[]

This is an alternate version of Transformers: Dark of the Moon: The Game, so is not in continuity with any other media.

Trivia[]

  • This version of Lockdown is visually based on the Transformers Animated version of the character, but is depicted as a full time Decepticon.
    • This would inspire the Lockdown from IDW's G1 influenced continuity, who is depicted as a Decepticon bounty hunter.
  • At the time Lockdown was created, there were no plans for him to be featured in an actual film. When Age of Extinction came out, with a Lockdown as the main antagonist, there were no explicit links to the ROTF character in the film. However, Titan Comics, the only piece of media creating tie-in stories to the movies post-Dark of the Moon, revealed that, as far as they were concerned, the Lockdown they had been featuring in their comics was the same character as the AOE villain.
