The Matrix of Leadership

The Matrix of Leadership is an ancient and powerful artifact that is used to power the Star Harvester. It can also be used to reactivate a Transformer's Spark, thus bringing them back to life (according to Jetfire, it was never designed for that purpose). It was used to revive Optimus Prime and Sentinel Prime (Stasis Lock).

History[]

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen[]

Thousands of years ago, the seven Primes used the Matrix to power Star Harvesters, which made Energon used to power the AllSpark. But one of them, Megatronus thought the AllSpark chose him, and he tried to use the Matrix to power a Sun Harvester he had built on Earth, despite the Primes' ancient law. So the other six Primes hid the Matrix of Leadership away in a tomb made of their own bodies. Fast forward to 2009. Sam Witwicky had found the ancient relic, but it crumbled to dust as soon as he touched it. After being guided to Optimus (With Elita-One getting blasted smack in the head and Arcee being killed and Sam having a death experience), Sam shoved the Matrix into Optimus's Spark Chamber, but The Fallen came, and took it to activate the Sun Harvester. Presumably Optimus went to the rubble of the Sun Harvester after the battle and took back the Matrix.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon[]

After Optimus went to the Ark and found Sentinel Prime, he used the Matrix to re-awaken his former mentor. Later, when offering the Matrix to Sentinel and him rejecting it, never see it again possibly restored back to his Spark cavity off-screen.

Transformers: Age of Extinction and Transformers: The Last Knight[]

Although do not see it anymore, it is probably was still restored in Optimus's Spark cavity, as it's said that the Matrix of Leadership prevents him from being killed. Evidence supports these when Lockdown pushes Optimus's sword straight into his chest, and surviving a powerful blast through the chest but still capable regenerate his wound. In later sequel, Optimus Prime was ran-out energon but was awakened once his body was pulled on Cybertron.

Transformers One[]

The Matrix of Leadership is inside of Zeta Prime. When Sentinel murdered Zeta, he tried to steal the Matrix from Zeta's corpse and use it for himself. However, Primus deemed Sentinel unworthy and disappeared all of the sudden. When Orion Pax was killed and betrayed by his former best friend, D-16, the spirits of Primes saved Orion with the Matrix of Leadership when they deemed him worthy in the eyes of Primus for his noble sacrifice, renaming him as Optimus Prime. After stopping D-16 (now known as Megatron) and the High Guard, the Matrix activated to bring out the lake of Energon.

Games[]

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The Game[]

Following The Fallen's demise aftermath final battle at Egypt, Optimus Prime presumably had taken the Matrix from Tomb of Twelve Primes chamber off-screen.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark[]

With Drift's assistance, Optimus Prime uses his Matrix to destroyed the Dark Spark whose carried by Lockdown. Preventing Lockdown brought Megatron and Decepticons armies returning from the past timelines.
