And now we stand here together as one, proving we all have the the power to transform; to become who we were destined to be; to right wrongs; to make our world better. Because here, freedom and autonomy are the right of all sentient beings. Here, all are truly Autobots. This message is a warning to all Quintessons: If you dare return to Cybertron, the Autobots will be waiting. I will be waiting. I am... Optimus Prime.
—Optimus Prime gives his first dramatic ending monologue...
Optimus Prime, originally known as Orion Pax, is the main protagonist of the 2024 animated science fiction action film Transformers One. He is a former Energon miner who eventually becomes in the legendary hero and leader of the Autobots.
Orion Pax starts as a low-class cogless Energon miner who met D-16 (who later becomes Megatron) and became his best friend. However, he found his life in mining tedious and unfulfilling and was driven by a desire to prove himself and others worth beyond their role as miners. This led him to seek out to find the Matrix of Leadership, in order to end the need for him and his fellow to stay in the dangerous mines, and to prove that cogless like him were capable of more, often facing prejudice by cogged Cybertronians.
Through a series of events, Orion, with his friends, would come across a truth about the Matrix's disappearance and the infamous betrayal of their noble leader and symbol of glory, Sentinel Prime, against Cybertron by cohort with the Quintessons, who caused the fall of the Thirteen Primes. Orion Pax sought to reveal the truth to Iacon, so that they may rise up against Sentinel. But Orion's methods would bring him to clash with D-16, who now had been consumed by rage and vengeance through this revelation. Their deteriorating friendship would eventually lead to D-16 accidentally injuring Orion, who tried to oppose his friend from publicly executing Sentinel. Seeing his sacrifice for the greater good, Primus deemed Orion worthy and granted him the Matrix of Leadership, and becoming Optimus Prime.
Reborn, Optimus returned and confronted D-16 (now Megatron and leader of the Decepticons), becoming archenemies. After a fight, Optimus defeated Megatron and banished him to the surface. Afterward, Optimus became the new prime and returned the Energon and the cogs to the miners, with the matrix of leadership and leading the new found Autobots to fight and protect Cybertron from any threat, including the Decepticons or the quintessons.
Transformers One[]
Born as a protoform (lacking the physical cog that would allow him to transform), Orion Pax was sent as a low-class, cog-less miner, where he met D-16, who idolized Megatronus Prime and they befriensded, and his superior, Elita-1. He spent his life working as a lowly miner in the mines of Iacon City alongside his best friend, extracting the energon from the depths of Cybertron. Despite lacking a cog, Orion was an incredibly bold bot who, unlike most miner bots, bored with his duties and longed for autonomy and the freedom to choose his own path. His curiosity led him to delve into Iacon's forbidden archives, exploring knowledge about the Thirteen Primes and the legendary Matrix of Leadership. Orion believed he was capable of more than just being a simple miner, and he actively sought out opportunities to prove his and the other miners' worth. He even became convinced that he could transform without a cog, so D-16 had to spend three days getting his friend back into shape. His adventurous spirit lead him to break rules to seek out information, often involving D-16, spent most of his time pulling Orion out of one jam or another.
On several occasions, Orion breaks into an archives' building in search of information, learning of the origin of Cybertron when its creator and god Primus sacrificed his life and transformed on its planet and created the first Transformers known as the Primes. He created a powerful relic out of some portion of his spark, the Matrix of Leadership in the possession of the Primes, which was lost long ago. Without which the Energon flow that sustained the life on the planet ceased to flow, ever since the fall of the Primes in their battle against a race called the Quintessons. Orion grows frustrated that this was the point where all historical record ends. After the latest such illicit adventure, Pax is caught by security guards who recognize him. He escapes but is pursued by the guards throughout the city; when caught, his trusty friend D-16 helped him escape from them. Boarding a train, D-16 wonders if the search for archives is worth it, and Orion explains that he's looking for clues to find the Matrix that will restore the flow of Energon and stop its extraction. His friend clarifies that their honorable leader and hero, Sentinel Prime, is already on the surface searching for the Matrix, but Orion claims to be helping, and D asks him to trust Sentinel. Orion then gifted his best friend with a pristine sticker of Megatronus, knowing that he is his favorite Prime.
During a work shift, Orion and D-16 work with the mining crew, command by Mining Captain Elita-1, whom Orion had known for a long time, and saw her as a fellow miner, despite Elita didn't reciprocate. While collecting Energon, an unstable Energon vein discovered by Wheeljack causes a collapse in the mine, forcing all the miners to evacuate. Jazz one of them, became trapped by a rock, so Orion and D-16 decided to go back and rescue him. Despite Elita's orders to get out, Orion ignored them. Using a jetpack, they managed to get Jazz out and leave the tunnel, albeit accidentally cause a cave-in. However, in response to his breaking of protocol, this resulted in Elita being blamed for the disaster, and she is fired and demoted to waste management, by brutal supervisor Darkwing, with her placing the blame on Orion. Angered by this injustice, Orion challenges Darkwing for unfairly dismissing Elita, insulting him by mocking him as if his finger could transform, causing Darkwing to almost deck Orion until D-16 intervened by blocking Darkwing and trying to apologize on his behalf before being knocked down himself by the large bot.
Following the mining incident, in their quarters, Orion asks his friend that he's fed up with them being treated like trash just for not having cogs, that he sees all of this as unfair and that they deserve something better, while thanking him for supporting him. In that they receive news and a transmission from their ruler, Sentinel Prime, announcing his return from the dangerous surface. He informing the city that he had failed to find the Matrix of Leadership, but that now they deserve to have fun. There mining work would be stopped so that everyone could watch the Iacon 5000 the following day, a race full of dangerous obstacles, where the best Transformers with gears will compete to see who is the fastest.
Seeing an opportunity to show everyone his potential, Orion proposed to D-16 that they compete in the Iacon 5000. If they can beat them even a cogged Transformer, they'll be recognized as the first cogless bots to achieve the impossible. But D rejects the idea, not convinced because they can't transform. On the day of the Iacon 5000, Orion tricks D-16 into entering alongside him in the race. The competitors prepare as Sentinel explains that today marked 50 cycles since the Quintessons were defeated and the loss of their Primes siblings, for whom they fought for their planet. In honor of this, the competitors come out and the race begins. Orion and D-16 enter the race with boosters. Sentinel Prime noted their participation, and the miners were excited to see one of their own compete for the first time. They managed to advance in the race, overcoming obstacles and finishing in first place. But they would not get any further, because, although their position was first place and they were close to victory until D was injured on the final stretch, they were overtaken by Chromia, who ultimately won the Iacon 5000.
After the race, both appear to be grounded, and D-16, furious, refused to talk to Orion about what he forced him to do, Although Orion tried to convince him that participating in the race wasn't a mistake, he says it wasn't a big deal, but quite the opposite, because for the first time they felt alive and had a unique experience. D-16 agrees, but believes they're going to be punished for this anyway. They are then greeted by Sentinel's assistant, Airachnid, who evaluates them, and both receive a visit from Sentinel Prime himself, who, to the duo's surprise and confusion, congratulated them on what they had done, one of the craziest things he had ever seen, that the miners' productivity increased by 150% after the race for inspiring the other miners to work harder. As thanks, he accessed them to his personal repair bay, much to the pride of the mining duo. However, Sentinel left early for another expedition, and before they could escort them, Darkwing appears, who, furious with them for almost beating him in the race and humiliating him, transfers them and throws them down to sub-level 50 for waste management, apparently as punishment.
Inside, they encountered another cogless and eccentric Transformers named B-127 /Bumblebee/Badassatron. The overly-talkative bot was excited that they were real and to finally have company and learn every detail about them, recounting them how he spent his entire life locked up here. Orion and D-16 just want to know where the exit is, but Bee replies that there isn't one, explaining that they have limited access, resigned to doing their job and staying here, teaching them what to do with the trash. He introduces them to those he calls "friends," who are actually statues made of scrap metal. Suddenly, Orion noticed a light and a garbled voice emanating from one of B-127's statues, whom he calls "Steve," accidentally destroying him. He finds a chip that reveals an old transmitter from Alpha Trion, one of the late Thirteen Primes, requesting reinforcements against an unknown attack, with coordinates directed towards the surface.
Seeing this as a possible clue to the location of the Leadership Matrix, Orion convinces D16 and Bee to join him on this mission, urging them to see how Sentinel will react when they find the Matrix and deliver it to him personally, to which they agree. With B-127's help, the three make their way through a garbage chute and infiltrate one of the toxic waste trains heading to the surface, where they deliberately run into Elita, who discovers them. Still furious with Orion for her demotion as supervisor, she attempted to report them before being locked inside, and attempts to sabotage the train as it departs, with Orion, D, and B racing off to try and stop Elita while Orion tries to tell her about the mission. Once on the roof and outside the city, the four robots marvel for the first time at the beauty of Cybertron's uncharted surface. Orion then explains to Elita that they found an ancient message that could lead them to the Matrix, and although he shows her the coordinates convincing her to join them on this quest, Elita refuses to support them and wants to take them back to be arrested. However, after the group is knocked off the train by Cybertron's shifting geology and stranded on the surface, Elita lets out a scream of rage and snatches the map from Orion and reluctantly agrees to join his mission just because she has no other choice.
After a long walk, the four come across an abandoned base covered in a very strange non-metallic flora, and they see a Quintesson ship appear that liquidates all life forms and they manage to evade it and avoid being scanned. After evading the ship, the group is felt confused and unable to understand what is happening, as it was said that the Quintessons were defeated 50 cycles ago during the war, and none have been to Cybertron for that long. They followed the coordinates and the map eventually led them to a cave where they discovered the bodies of the Primes who had fallen in battle against the Quintessons, but they discover that the Matrix was not in the cave. At that moment, Orion and the others discover and find Alpha Trion himself buried in rubble with his spark still active. With a small cube of Energon from B-127's reserves, they revived him. The Prime, upon awakening, believes he was still in the midst of war, and the miners reassure him that the war was over, but Alpha Trion was surprised to notice them without cogs, and asks who they are, to which they claim to be miners who extract Energon from it stopped flowing, which leaves the Prime somewhat confusion.
When Orion mentions that they are looking the Matrix to deliver to Sentinel Prime, Alpha Trion quickly interrupts him, he revealing a dark truth about that Sentinel was not a true Prime, and tells them that he was no hero, but a traitor. The four of them shocked and confused, fail to understand his explanation, and Trion tells them via a hologram that in the past, for thousands of cycles, the war against the Quintessons was a brutal conflict. When their principal aide, Sentinel, said he had intercepted an enemy transmission that a secret meeting of Quintessons Commanders was taking place, the Primes were gathered where they agreed to view the information in the same cave in secret to finally end the war. However, this all turned out to be a trap, when a horde of Quintessons ambushed the Primes. Despite being outnumbered, they fought together and came close to victory, until they were defeated and killed when Sentinel betrayed them to take power of Cybertron, make a pact with the Quintessons. He then attempted to seize the Matrix of Leadership by force for its power, but it was taken from him, as it can only be used by someone Primus himself deems worthy.
Shocked by this revelation, unable to believe the horrifying truth that the Matrix had simply vanished, the four bots made their way to the surface of the cave, and observed a large fleet of Quintesson ships hovering above the planet's surface and witness the arrival of Sentinel Prime. Orion and the others watched in horror as he bowed to the Quintessons, handing over a large amount of all the Energon the miners had worked so hard to collect as part of his deal to pay them in Energon in exchange for allowing him to rule Cybertron. They then watched as Sentinel was threatened by High Commander Quintesson due to the insufficient delivery of Energon, and as he ordered the miners' shifts to be tripled in order to force the rest of the miners to work harder and extract more Energon.
This revelation has profound impacts on all of the quartet, with Orion confirming his theory that something felt off, and realized Sentinel had been using them as slave labor to pay off his debt. But the most impacted of all was D-16, who expressed extreme anger and hatred towards Sentinel--but he also showed frustration towards Orion, blaming him for participating in the Iacon 5000 race and leading to the chain of events that brought them here, which broke his view of reality. Orion reminds him of the status quo and the importance of stopping Sentinel, but D-16 then declared he wanted to kill Sentinel for enslaving him, which unsettled Orion. The quartet soon learns that all Cybertronians were born with transformation cogs, but Sentinel had removed them from the newborn bots to put them to work in the mines for extracting the energon he needed to pay the Quintessons. Alpha Trion senses the noble spirit of the bots, and gives Orion, D-16, Elita-1 and B-127 the transformation cogs of the fallen Primes, giving them the ability to transform and upgrading their bodies. Trion then instructs them to return to Iacon and broadcast the proof of Sentinel's treachery with a chip. Although Orion is reluctant to leave the elder Prime behind, he nonetheless heeds his advice.
On their return path, Orion has trouble transforming as it was his first time doing so, as do the rest of the bots. However, they soon quickly adapt when being pursued by the Trackers, with Orion transforming into a truck. As he converses with Elita and Bee excitedly about their new transformations, they fail notice a Tracker targeting them, who is then shot dead by D-16, who had transformed into a tank. As D-16 expresses euphoria at the kill, Orion notices this and becomes concerned. D-16 then takes the chip Orion had on his arm and aggressively tells Orion that he 'got it', which unnerves Orion even further.
Later, the group is captured by the High Guard, and interrogated by Starscream, leader of the high guard, asking if they were spies or incompetent lackeys. Orion responds they're not spies, though Elita chimes in that he is incompetent. Upon learning that who the High Guard were, Orion becomes delighted, and hopes to rally the Guard to expose Sentinel and unify Cybertron, but he is rebuffed by Starscream due to their dogma of "one bot's strength over another". Orion becomes alarmed when D-16, who is now showing even more signs of aggression, duels and defeats Starscream, and manifests his fusion cannon for the first time. D-16 sticks his cannon in Starscream's face, but Orion has to talk him down, stating he was not their enemy. Though D-16 heeds this and spares Starscream, he vowed that would be the last time he showed mercy, and managed to win the loyalty of the High Guard by declaring open war on Sentinel. Orion is evidently worried and disturbed by this, as he sees his friend's optics begin to change color.
At that moment, Airachnid and her Trackers arrive, forcing everyone to engage in combat. Although Orion puts up a good fight by killing a few Trackers, his efforts are in vain as he, along with Elita and many other High Guards, are defeated, with D-16 and B-127 being taken prisoner. Orion, upon regaining consciousness, discovers that the chip containing the proof of Sentinel's treachery had been destroyed, and begins to despair. Elita, who is still resolute, attempts to encourage Orion by giving him a pep talk (sort of); his blind optimism that he has is what leads to make many bold and courageous (which Elita adds they're also stupid, hence the 'sort of' part). Spurred by her words, Orion intends to utilize a transport train to return to Iacon, but also cited the need to recruit the 'nut jobs', referring to the High Guard. He approaches Soundwave and Shockwave, and informs them that in order to rescue their comrades they need to act immediately. While Shockwave is unwilling to follow, he is swiftly put in line by Elita who punches his eye and threatens more violence if he did not comply. Orion then orders the group to "roll out".
While Elita-1 takes the transport train back to Iacon, Orion personally returns to the miners' headquarters, where Ironhide is arguing with Darkwing about the miners' conditions, that they need to rest and time for repair, though Darkwing is less than willing to act on his request. He is about to punch Ironhide until Orion stops him and punches Darkwing all the way to an arcade machine, knocking him out. The miners are shocked to see Orion alive and well as they were told by Sentinel that he had died from his race injuries. Orion reveals the truth to them about Sentinel, and the fact that they were supposed to have transformation cogs but were stolen. He then gives a rousing speech to the miners, rallying them to stand up for the unjust situation that has unfolded before them. Utilizing jetpacks and mining tools, Orion leads them to a revolt, launching an attack on Sentinel's tower, where he has D-16, Starscream, and Bee captive. During the battle, Orion is pinned to a train by Airachnid, who attacks him with her spider limbs, and also opens up the back of her head to reveal several eyes, which gives him an idea.
Orion orders Soundwave to free the captives, and checks on D-16, though the latter is focused on getting revenge on Sentinel, ignoring Orion's idea about using Airachnid's memory recordings to expose Sentinel's crimes. Orion, D-16, Elita and Bee are soon confronted by Sentinel himself, who unknowingly incriminates himself by confessing he did indeed rip out their cogs when they were born and forced them to mine to pay off his debt to the Quintessons. Orion tells the group that he needs Airachnid for her memory recordings, which leads to a confrontation between Elita and Airachnid. After a brief struggle, Elita manages to subdue Airachnid, ripping off one of her limbs and clobbering her with it. Orion also discovers Bee had gained a battle mask and knife hands, which he expresses delight at. The two soon race off to rendezvous with Elita with a subdued Airachnid.
At the broadcast station, Orion manages to play back Airachnid's memory recordings, revealing Sentinel's crimes to the miners and the whole of Iacon city. Elita congratulates Orion for their efforts, but he then sees D-16 and Sentinel fighting and crashing on top of a building. Just before D-16 can execute the false Prime however, Orion intervenes, telling D that all of Iacon knows the truth. This leads to an argument between the two; Orion does not want the rebuilding of Iacon to begin with an execution, but more importantly, he does not want D-16 to be consumed by hate and revenge, lest he become another tyrant himself. Unfortunately, D-16 is too blinded by rage to care, and knocks Orion aside to ready the killshot for Sentinel. But as he fires, Orion jumps in front of him, taking the shot intended for Sentinel, which shocks D-16. Fatally wounded, Orion is initially caught by D, who questions why he would do such a thing. Despite Orion's pleas (which were not to save him, but for D-16 not to go too far), D-16 ultimately decides he has had enough of saving Orion, and lets him fall to his death.
As Orion, now lifeless, plunges into the chasm, he falls into the core of Cybertron, where he is greeted by the spirits of the Primes. Alpha Trion deems that Orion's sacrifice for the greater good had deemed him worthy of the Matrix of Leadership in Primus' eyes. The Matrix of Leadership reformats Orion Pax into Optimus Prime, now stronger and more powerful. He rockets back up to the surface, where D-16, now known as Megatron, had killed Sentinel. The sight of Optimus with the Matrix in his chest enrages Megatron, who proceeds to furiously battle him. Despite the upgrades granted by Megatronus Prime's cog, Megatron was ultimately no match for the newly reformatted Optimus, who manifests an Energon-axe and cleaves his fusion cannon in half with it, while simultaneously defeating Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave. With Megatron defeated, Optimus banishes him and the High Guard from Iacon, while lamenting that things did not have to had gone this way. Megatron vows it's not over, and swiftly departs for the surface with the Guard.
As they depart, Optimus has a flashback of him, as Orion Pax, introducing himself to D-16 for the first time. After ruminating for a moment, he designates Elita as his new commander and asks for Bee to be by his side. Just then, the Matrix in his chest begins glowing, and as Optimus holds it up, the Energon begins to flow once again throughout the planet. At the same time, thanks to Optimus, all the miner bots also receive their transformation cogs, with Optimus giving a speech on freedom and autonomy of all sentient beings. He christens the now able-to-transform bots as Autobots. He then sends a warning to the Quintessons about returning to Cybertron, that he will be waiting for them, and declaring that he is Optimus Prime.
Personality[]
Orion Pax was free spirited, laid back, selfless and adventurous. While he was dedicated to his task as a miner, he would try to find any opportunity to engage in activities beyond his limited caste to prove that he could be "more than meets the eye", always convincing his fellow miner and best friend D-16 to accompany him, who would do so begrudgingly, enjoying the adventure, yet being remorseful afterwards, which Orion would try to argue away. He tended to be short-sighted, in that he found the appeal of challenging the status quo but failed to consider the potential risks and consequences. Despite his playful attitude, Orion wasn't irresponsible, as should an accident or danger arise, he would be first to put himself in danger to rescue anyone caught by it.
Orion hates Darkwing for his abusive behavior towards him and the miners, willing to go as far as flipping him off, though D-16 intervened before he could. When he return to Iacon after learning the truth, Orion punched Darkwing for all the suffering that he and the miners had been put through.
Orion, like all in Iacon, held high respect for Sentinel Prime, but would break the rules for the opportunity to impress him instead of keeping his head down to avoid trouble like D-16 preferred. Upon learning the truth of how Sentinel had betrayed the Primes and their whole race in a deal with the Quintessons, Orion had quickly matured but also had developed doubts that he never had when certain about his world. Even as an aloof bot, Orion was a natural leader, but did not desire the station due to not believing that he was good enough to be in charge. Orion became increasingly concerned during D-16's escalating mental breakdown due to Sentinel's deception, but he did not know how to help his friend beyond his usual attempts to bond with him and alleviate his fears, although less successfully. His previous optimism, instincts and friendliness inspired most of his travelling party, as fruits of his own actions caused Elita to reassure him of his worth and talents, thereby he saved himself through saving them.
Orion was merciful as despite the deceit, pre-activation mutilation and slavery caused by the false Prime, upon the defeat of Sentinel and his forces, he had declared that no more violence would be needed, as they had reclaimed their lives and world, although a larger motivation was to save D-16 from becoming a monster like Sentinel. But drowned by rage and vengeance, D-16 would attempt to execute Sentinel, momentarily delayed when Orion took the hit. D-16 held his wounded friend to prevent him falling into the core of Cybertron, but he had succumbed to hatred and resentment, dropping Orion to his death. But Orion's nobility had convinced Primus and the disembodied Primes that he was worthy of the Matrix of Leadership. Upon receiving it, his damaged body was repaired and evolved into the form of Optimus Prime.
D-16 had murdered Sentinel and scavenged Megatronus Prime's stolen transformation cog, implanting it into himself as he evolved into his self-proclaimed Megatron. When Optimus confronted Megatron, the ex-friends engaged in a brief battle that ended in a stalemate. Despite their past friendship, Optimus sadly realized that Megatron was too far gone and reluctantly chose to exile him along with the members of the High Guard who had followed him. Although Optimus felt remorse for being unable to prevent his friend's descent into evil, he recognized that he needed to set aside his personal feelings and desires. He had accepted the responsibility of leadership and aimed to repair their world, warn off the Quintesson conquerors, and pragmatically prepare for other threats, including his ex-friend’s new legion now known as the Decepticons. He gives all the miners their cogs and creates his benevolent empire known as the Autobots.
Appearance[]
Before becoming Optimus Prime, Orion Pax was a medium-height bot with blue eyes, a blue helmet-like part around his head with a grey emblem on the front, a red upper torso, wrists and elbows, and his legs, feet, and hands are also blue. The rest of his body is metallic silver. However, he is noticeably dirty and has an empty cog hole in the middle of his chest.
After gaining his transformation cog, the dirt on Orion's body disappeared and his body became notably shiny. Out of the sides of his "helmet", sticking out, are two antennas, on his upper arms are two smokestacks, and on the back of his legs are wheels, all representing his alt mode as a truck. His chest has a front window that is slightly abstract, and his limbs all have noticeable upgraded machine components.
As Optimus Prime, his body underwent significant transformations. He is now a foot taller than before. His front window is larger and contains the Matrix of Leadership, which emits a light blue glow. His smokestacks have been increased in size, and his antennas are taller as well. Additionally, he appears much shinier, and his face can now form a silver metallic mask in front of his mouth.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
Cybertronian Physiology/Matrix of Leadership Enhancement: Orion Pax possesses the natural abilities inherent to all Cybertronians; but after receiving a T-Cog from Alpha Trion and the acquisition of the Matrix of Leadership, elevate him far beyond any average Cybertronians.
- Superhuman Strength: Even as a cog-less Cybertronian, Orion was exceptionally strong, being capable of leaping across vast gaps and yanking Jazz out of a rockfall. When gaining his t-cog, Orion easily beat up Darkwing (his former employer) for his abusive behavior towards the so-called "miners". Upon receiving the Matrix and becoming a Prime, Optimus' strength is also greatly enhanced as he effortlessly fights back Starscream and other powerful High Guard members, additionally slicing Megatron’s cannon cleanly in two.
- Superhuman Durability: As a Cybertronian, Orion is composed entirely of metal and electronic components, allowing him to endure serious blows with minimal injury. This is displayed by how he manages to endure getting struck by Darkwing in his jet mode during the Iacon 5000 and manages to deflect Megatron’s flurry of punches at his body.
- Superhuman Speed: Being a Cybertronian, Orion is naturally larger than most humans, resulting in a greater stride distance and speed. In his vehicle mode, he is also capable of moving at speeds comparable to the fastest trucks seeing as he manages to accelerate fast enough to knock Megatron down.
- Superhuman Agility: Orion is rather nimble and agile, being able to largely outpace and outrun the Cybertronian guardsmen even without a cog.
- Superhuman Stamina: Orion possesses extraordinary stamina thanks to his Cybertronian physiology, being capable of running and vaulting throughout a great stretch of Iacon while escaping the Cybertronian guard.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Upon gaining his transformation cog, Orion seems to be able to activate certain aspects of his body via reflexes alone.
- Transformation: Upon gaining his cog, Orion can turn into a truck, allowing him to traverse terrain at extreme speeds. He can also use his truck mode's exhaust pipes to fly and as flamethrowers. After receiving the Matrix of Leadership, Optimus can manifest an Energon Axe.
- Longevity: As a Cybertronian, Orion lacks any organic components and as such, can live for indefinite amounts of time so long as his spark burns, and his mechanisms are maintained. Seeing as Sentinel, who was already thousands of cycles old by the time he betrayed the Primes, looks relatively unchanged in the modern day from his past, it is likely that Orion and other Cybertronians do not age at all.
Abilities[]
- Master Combatant: He is a highly powerful fighter in advanced combat, combining hand-to-hand techniques, weapon usage and even switching between robot and vehicle forms partially or fully to maintain an edge.
- Master Axeman: Despite recently accessed it, Optimus displayed great proficiency with his Energon Axe, able to wield it as a melee weapon or hurling it as a projectile.
- Master Leader: Even from his days as a miner, Optimus already displayed a potential to be a capable leader from rallying his friends to the surface and later, leading an uprising to end Sentinel's reign for good. For this reason, Primus rewarded him with the Matrix of Leadership as a sign of Optimus being prepared to lead an entire Autobot empire for the upcoming battles and challenges.
Trivia[]
- This version of Optimus Prime shares similarities; with Optimus Prime from Aligned continuity. Started as former miner, named Orion Pax, being the ex-best friend of D-16 and eventually becomes an optimistic heroic leader.
- Orion Pax/Optimus Prime was in the early Versions of Transformers One Optimus Prime from the Transformers Live Action Series this was before Transformers One became a seperat Continuity.
- If you pay attention, after Orion Pax is shot in the chest by D-16, his colors fade to black and white, symbolizing that he’s truly dead. This is a faithful reference to G1, where his body loses its color upon death. However, after the Matrix is placed into his chest, Orion’s colors return, signifying his revival—this time as the living Optimus Prime.
