General Seward is a, er, general in the United States Military. He not only talks with the Autobots but also views them as a potential asset against the Decepticons, making him the smartest army-related comic character who ever lived.
History[]
Titan Comics[]
NOTE: The following events occur in a splinter timeline where Megatron won the battle of Mission City.
"Dark Spark"[]
Seward was part of the delegation that, at the sight of a raw energon field in Florida, discussed the AllSpark-caused techno-organic apocalypse striking the Earth. He was vocally unhappy about having to deal with both Decepticons and a rogue planet.
"Hard Target"[]
After the establishment of the Decepticon Heartland, Seward was sent to escort Optimus to a secret rendezvous point with President Allen. When that point turned out to be a derelict building in the middle of nowhere, Seward realised something was wrong, but not soon enough to stop a robot assassin leaping in to kill Prime. With communications jammed, Seward had to head for Andrews Air Force Base to get Prime some back-up. Afterwards, he found out the President made no such meeting and they must've been conned by a voice modulator, right Prime?
"Revolution Part 1"[]

Seward remained at Andrews Air Base, seemingly as an army liaison with the Autobots. With the Decepticons blackmailing the American government to boot the Autobots out in return for a truce, Seward had to apologetically admit to Optimus that not everyone saw the Autobots as a help and that the government was indeed planning to boot them. He later would oversee the Autobots' departure from Andrews, something he regretted.
He regretted it more when he saw a nuclear-armed Patriot missile being fired towards the Autobot ship without any warning, blowing the thing to pieces...
"Revolution Part 2"[]
When the Decepticon Heartland unleashed its all-out assault on America, Seward was left frustrated and hopeless by the rapidity of the advance, the President's refusal to sanction a full counterstrike, and the knowledge that the Autobots had been their last hope and were now dead.
Notes[]
- Seward is unnamed in "Dark Spark", but it's pretty clearly the same guy.
