Stinger was a Decepticon who was a copy of Bumblebee, created by KSI , who appears as the secondary antagonist in Transformers: Age of Extinction.
History[]
Stinger was one of a number of drones created by KSI, using salvaged supplies of Transformium from the remains of deceased Transformers and recycled into raw materials. Stinger was deliberately designed to evoke Bumblebee; the engineers who supervised the creation of Stinger noted that their model supposedly "improved" on the many design flaws that the "antique" Bumblebee possessed.
Titan Comics[]
In Accept No Substitutes!, Stinger broke out of KSI's laboratories, and disguised himself as Bumblebee, attacking a power plant, hoping to draw out the Autobot. He subsequently headed into a nearby forest, and set fire to an occupied house to attract Bumblebee's attention. As the Autobot attempted to rescue the house's occupant, Stinger punched him into a tree, and welded Bumblebee's battle mask down to render the two of them identical. A brief battle ensued, ending when Optimus Prime arrived. Stinger mimicked Bumblebee's beeping to confuse the Autobot leader, but he was able to identify his real comrade when the scout dived to save the human from a fall. His cover blown, Stinger pulled a gun on Optimus, but had it knocked from his hand, and quickly fled the scene.
Rise of the Dark Spark[]
Stinger, or a lookalike of him, was seen as part of Lockdown's crew of mercenaries. Stinger was present for Drift's interrogation. He then followed Lockdown away, presumably to assist in his objective of retrieving the "amplifier".
Transformers: Age of Extinction[]
A prototype of Stinger was displayed in KSI's headquarters when Cade, Shane, and Bumblebee infiltrated the building. Infuriated by KSI's claims, Bumblebee wound up knocking over the prototype, leaving Shane to take the heat when KSI staff arrived to investigate.
The main Stinger was first seen being controlled by the humans and he and along Galvatron hunt down the Autobots, only to be called back when Lockdown arrives. He is later controlled by Galvatron along with the rest of the drones and he is present in the battle of Hong Kong he battles Bumblebee while being on the back of the Dinobot, Strafe. During the battle Stinger is then killed by Bumblebee when he is shot by Bumblebee and his head is eaten by Strafe.

Trivia[]
- With Titan Comics depicting Stinger as a fully sentient entity in their prequel comics to Age of Extinction, it is likely Titan were not informed of the precise details of Stinger's background.
- The same can be said for Stinger's appearance in Rise of the Dark Spark.
- Stinger's plasma cannon and crab claws was a reused model of Revenge of the Fallen Megatron.
- Due to being Bumblebee's doppelganger, that would make Stinger as evil counterpart of Cliffjumper.
