Transformers: Shadows Rising

Transformers Shadows Rising is sequel of Transformers Human Alliance. Its an arcade rail shooter developed by Sega and released in 2018, based on the live action films.

Gameplay

Just like its predecessor, the gameplay still uses the same mechanical system. The only major difference is, the players play by sitting rather than standing.

Synopsis

Stage 1: Pacific Ocean

Vanessa, Jake, Autobots, and several NEST soldiers beheaded towards pacific ocean city. Where they killed several Decepticons opponents, along with their Cybertronian aircraft. After defeating them, Vanessa and Jake head to the place, where they thought they were picked up by three allied NEST aircraft. The three aircrafts transform into seekers clones, where they're ambushed towards them. However, Optimus Prime beat them with help of Vanessa and Jake. After the two of seekers clones were killed, Vanessa, Jake, and Optimus Prime diving into the sea into a secret place where they also killed several Decepticons who were in their way, with the last seekers clones was killed Optimus Prime.

After entering the secret place, Vanessa and Jake entered the tunnel. But on the way, they were ambushed by Sideswipe Clones. Jake says that they aren't the real Sideswipe but a clones created by KSI. After successfully escaping their pursuit, the real Sideswipe arrived and killed the two clones. Optimus Prime came to them, and he was shocked to find out that this all came from Megatron's plan. Feel shocked and disappointed at same time, Optimus hitting the wall with his right hand.

Stage 2: Wales

They continued their investigation, and their main objectives is to find mysterious signal source. They're encounter Scorn, and later freeing Strafe who was entangled in ropes by the Decepticons troops. They later defeating many Decepticons who got in their way, before face off the artificial Decepticon whom resembles Brawl. With their combined efforts together, they're managed destroyed the clones of Brawls. However, they're later got ambushed by Grimlock whom have been brainwashed, forcing them to attack while dodge his attacks. Vanessa, Jake, with Optimus Prime manage destroying the device which controlling Grimlock's mind. Grimlock wakes up, and he felt confused, and then leave them. Optimus was questioning to himself who did that to Grimlock, and what for.

Stage 3: East China

They're arrived at East China, these time their main objectives is to liberate KSI Headquarters. Since the disappearance of scientists and workers working at KSI company, it is known that the company's activities have been vandalized by the original Decepticons. They managed to enter the area which then followed by the Autobots, as well as troops from NEST. On the way, Vanessa and Jake almost fell, but Sideswipe came and saved them. However as they're about going up to rooftop, they're ambushed by artificial Decepticon resemble Shockwave. Sideswipe battle with the imitation Shockwave, was defeated with little help of Vanessa and Jake. Later on, Vanessa and Jake use their sniper guns to takedown remaining Decepticons in area.

After that, they investigated the outside area. Where they were confronted while ambushed by another artificial Decepticons, these time a Decepticon clone resemble Bumblebee. While, he almost besting Vanessa and Jake, he was eventually defeated with little help of Sideswipe by stabbing his chest, while Vanessa and Jake take their opportunity by shooting him down which blown up his chest, destroyed him. Optimus arrived, he commented that these bot was fake. Optimus then grabbed the Bumblebee's fake clone head, the clone activated his hologram vision about the missing scientist and was reported last seen on the Moon. After learning the truth about missing person whom kept hostages in Moon Base, Optimus orders his comrades that they're must investigate immediately.

Stage 4: The Moon

Knowing that the Autobots will investigate into outer space, under Optimus' orders. Vanessa, Jake, and all human members whom affiliated with Nest wearing their astronaut suits off-screen. Optimus rushes out into space, where he flies while giving his crew directions to follow him and attacking Decepticons whom got their way. They then fired at the Decepticons targets around the Moon base area. After the enemy waves was clear in their way, where suddenly an artificial Decepticon appears that resembles Optimus Prime whom using flight gear ambush towards them, where he confronts the original Optimus Prime, causing them to fall while landed on the Moon base. Fake Optimus Prime is then injured by Vanessa and Jake, forcing him to retreat from their fighting confrontation.

Bumblebee aware of these by claim that he's not completely dead, and the arrived Optimus Prime Clone was then confronts them once again for final time. Only to be literally got impaled by Megatron from behind, destroyed him completely. Megatron arrived, and he was greeting towards them. Optimus then asked how Megatron could revived, later Megatron revealed his resurrection that his corpse was previous got analyzed by human scientist from KSI company. Due to Megatron's brain still function during that time, he was then capable rebuilt himself to assume his old second form. Megatron then engaged battle with Autobots, while he quickly besting the three Autobots, he was defeated by Vanessa and Jake combined efforts. Optimus Prime shoots Megatron with Ion Cannon, causing Megatron got thrown up into space, however Megatron swear that he will reborn.

In aftermath final battle on Moon base, Optimus Prime orders the Autobots to driving the ship that take missing human prisoner as its hostages. Upon arriving on Earth, Autobots and NEST allies celebrate their victory, with Optimus said that the chaotic evil shadows is gone while the light of hope was rise once again. After human around the world witnessing these events, the KSI company was disbanded, with human civilization began trusting Autobots potential once more.

Continuity notes

• The game takes place after Dark of the Moon, but alternatively disregarded the events of Age of Extinction.
• Due to being an alternate timeline where there is no Cemetery Wind faction and Transformers Reaction Force. So its very safe assumed several characters such as; Sam Witwicky, Carly Spencer, Wreckers, Ratchet, Dino/Mirage, Wheelie, Brains, Twins, Barricade, and several Constructicons are stated to be "alive" in this timeline.
• Optimus maintain his main alt mode, and wasn't scanned another alt mode for hiding against hunt organizations.
• Optimus' severe right arm has been fixed presumably by Ratchet, following aftermath final battle of Chicago.
• Bumblebee maintain his alt mode in third movie, and wasn't scanned another alt mode for hiding against hunt organizations.
• Bumblebee could talk without using a radio tape voice, therefore it can be assumed that Ratchet has succeeded fixing Bumblebee's actual voice box off-screen, which happened following up aftermath final battle Chicago.
• Although he makes no appearance through out the game, its possible that Lockdown likely exist at some point, with evidence of Temenos Ship existence, being near located at Moon base. Its theorized, that Lockdown presumably killed off-screen by Megatron, shortly after Megatron brought back to life as an avatar body in KSI company.
• Megatron revived as well as reassume his second form via the Transformium process, by the KSI scientists experiment. The reason why Megatron reverted back to his second form, was due to Megatron uses earth vehicle form only as a disguise mode. Its worth noting that his head wound was completely gone, which implies his resurrection also regenerate his wound, particularly head area.

Transformers references

• The way Sideswipe killed one of his clones was reference to second movie, where he killed Sideways in his alt mode.
• Bumblebee could talk with his actual voice box was reference to fifth movie, though rather alternate the origins how he regained back his voice box.
• The way KSI company creating their own artificial Transformers through remains of deceased Cybertronians that was found in Chicago, was reference to fourth movie.
• Megatron being revived having his avatar body through the Transformium process was also reference to fourth movie, albeit was alternate with him didn't becoming Galvatron in the process.
• Optimus Prime could flies in outer space without using his jetpack was reference to the fourth movie.

Errors

• It is still unclear as to why Megatron uses Revenge of the Fallen body, rather than his Dark of the Moon body after brought back to life by KSI scientiest. This has led to speculation that Megatron may have considered his second body more superior, particularly when his powers merged as the avatar body form.
• Optimus Prime who can fly in his form in the trilogy film without flight tech, thus left a question and some continuity errors. However, it is possible that the Wreckers allegedly implanted internal transformium jet metal into Optimus Prime's body. Which happens following aftermath final battle of Chicago. Another theory is that the transformium metal substance Jetfire's that attached to Optimus Prime's body is starting to adapt.

Trivia

• Similarly to previous game, Optimus Prime, Sideswipe, and Bumblebee were still maintain their appearances based on the third movie.
• Given the fact that Cementery Wind didn't exist in these timelines, then it can be concluded that Optimus Prime and Bumblebee didn't lose access their alt mode from the third movie.
• Unlike the KSI Drones that transform into Transformium particles, Decepticon Clones are shown transforming like typical Cybertronians.
• Some of Decepticon Clones bosses appears based on their deceased counterparts, where their existence heavily implies to built through their original counterparts' deceased body. Two individuals of the Seekers Clones were based on Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp. The Tank Clones were based on Brawl or Brawler (albeit they're many of them), and finally Shockwave Clone was based on Shockwave.
• According to Sideswipe, the Decepticons Clones are lacks of sparks, as he claim that he can't sense their sparks. Therefore, the Decepticons Clones merely puppets whose controlled an advanced AI.
• Given that Megatron return with his avatar body using his second form, then its safe assumed that he transform into Cybertronian Tank off-screen.
